Edwardian Living Room
I created drama in this living room through the warm blue of the paint, blinds and couches which acted as a backdrop to the colourful cushions, lamp and various ornaments.
Design concept
The client wanted to use their living room for family relaxation and low key, intimate socialising.
Due to it’s easterly facing direction this space receives very little natural light in the afternoon, so my approach was to embrace this and create a moody ambience that was at the same time comfortable and warm, which suited the client’s taste.
Paint palette and furnishings
The blue paint is Inchyra Blue by Farrow and Ball.
Despite it’s depth it’s extremely soft and warm and perfect for this east facing living room which receives very little natural light in the afternoon.
In the darker hours it keeps this space feeling cosy and warm and in the lighter periods, the rich pigment really comes to life delivering an elegant quality to the room.
The teal Laura Ashley couches and warm grey carpet provided layers of plush comfort and the navy roller blinds melded into the colour of walls to increase the sensation of the ‘cocooning’ effect.
