English Country House, Kitchen

Traditional and timeless

Alongside an improved layout, tiles and shades of paint communicating the English country look were selected for an inviting feel and to increase the feeling of space. South facing, the area was blessed with high levels of natural light.

Paint palette and tiles

‘Setting Plaster’ by Farrow and Ball is a soft yet rich pink giving a rural like impression, perfectly suited to the English country look. A warm like neutral with enough black in the pigment to blend in with the rough textured, pinky brown and blue, stone kitchen tiles – by Fired Earth – and kitchen cabinets that were already in place.

In the third image above, it’s possible to see how the rich red terracotta of the adjoining conservatory has been successfully matched to the soft pink of this kitchen.

The combination of colours that make up this shade: evoke a feeling of warmth and generosity, support cooking activities, and provide balance to the existing furnishings in this space.
